Show/Hide

All normal LLELA facilities and activities are available as of noon on May 18!

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed the maintenance work at the outlet ahead of schedule, and we are now open for fishing, camping, and other activities as normal. However, the water level in the river is still low. Check the release rate at the Lewisville Dam before you come, if you are counting on water in the river. Normal flow is 120-250 cfs, anything less is pretty dry.

Nature Walks

Join us for our monthly naturalist-led nature walk. Each season at LLELA is different, and we never know what we’ll find—deer tracks, autumn leaves, blooming wildflowers, nesting songbirds, butterflies and much more. The hike will last about two hours, and all ages are welcome. There is no additional fee for this hike, just LLELA’s regular gate fee ($5/vehicle). Reservations are not required. Meet at the Cicada Pavilion. Gatehouse staff can direct you to this location. Check our calendar for upcoming dates. For more information contact kcooper@cityoflewisville.com
