Dam construction update: starting on June 1, LLELA visitors will not be able to cross the outlet works. There will be no access to the Bittern Marsh Trail or east side of the river. Sometime soon (date currently unknown), all access east of the Cicada Pavilion will be prohibited for about 8 weeks. This will include the following areas and trails: Bittern Marsh Trail, kayaking and fishing in the Elm Fork of the Trinity River, all camping areas, and the Redbud Trail. Only the Blackjack, Green Dragon, Cottonwood, and Cicada Trails will be open during that time.

Annual Passes

2012 campAnnual Passes are $60 and allow a vehicle’s occupants to enter LLELA throughout the year without charge. Passes also allow entry to Lake Park and Tower Bay. Normally, LLELA admission is $5 per vehicle per entry.

An annual pass is not transferrable (must be used by the person who purchases it), and is valid for one year from date of purchase. You can purchase a LLELA annual pass at our gatehouse or online at (click on Memberships) The entrance to LLELA is at the corner of Jones St. and Kealy Ave (201 E. Jones St.).

Be aware that we expect the Lewisville Dam modification project to reduce some trail and river access for much of 2020-21. The Blackjack, Cottonwood, and Cicada Trails, along with the Beaver Pond Paddling Trail, are expected to remain accessible throughout.

Gatehouse hours are the same as LLELA hours:

7 a.m. - 5 p.m. November 1-February 28

7 a.m. - 7 p.m. March 1-October 31
